Holding you tight

Turning shopping desire into creative fuel

The starting point of this painting was me dreaming about having a bright green frog ring created by J.W. Anderson on my finger while holding a bag from the Japanese-French hipster brand Brigitte Tanaka with an embroidered dandelion on it — one my absolute favourite flowers. I was picturing myself with those two on a sunny spring day, frog ring on my finger, dandelion bag in hand, going to the supermarket… a guaranteed good mood!

Deep down, I knew of course that this bag was not particularly practical and can’t carry a lot of weight, but I was still regretting not buying it before Undercover picked it for their runway show, so now of course it’s completely sold out.

OK, I think this story is going off track a little, I’m supposed to talk about this new painting!

It’s not a complex story this time, to be honest. I simply wanted to capture the mood of this happy, sunny spring day of my imagination. A satisfied green tree frog is hugging the fluffy dandelion, appreciating that the good weather has finally arrived. Like the frog hugging the dandelion, I want to hold spring tight and never let you go.

In case you hadn’t noticed, I really love dandelions. It’s the second time that I’m painting them.

Something a bit old, but the ideas are still new
