Sit down for a glass

Have you read the start of the story? If not, go back to part 1 first!

I thought I had nailed it with “Breezy”, but no!

Aurore’s mother said that the landscape was just too green. She said it looked like people from the U.K. had immigrated to France and made an English lawn!

So Aurore shared some more images with me and I realised, it’s way too hot in the summer in this part of France to have lush green grass. It should be much more beige and brown. You should be able to feel the heat.

I also learned that, in this region, you open a bottle of rose after lunch, when you sit down in the shade. You might share a glass with you neighbors. It’s nothing fancy. You also drink it with a little cheese, grapes and baguette on the side. Without that, it’s not the proper French afternoon chillout.

In this scenery, I imagined a middle-aged couple living on the farm. It’s the evening, the day is almost over. The mood is romantic and easy-going. I’m not sure where the people are, though. Maybe they’re already too drunk? Or maybe the table was set for you to sit down and enjoy?

BEHIND THE SCENES...

THIS IS WHAT THIS PAINTING COULD LOOK LIKE ON YOUR WALL

Something a bit old, but the ideas are still new
