Beyond

This painting will be the basis for my entry in a Japanese poster competition. The theme is "Beyond".

"Beyond" can have many meanings, of course. What inspired me the most was going beyond yourself. This man wears a crown because he is the king of his own life. It's a reminder that you are the author of your own story. If you realize that, you become less concerned with the past and look into the future with confidence.
