Fire Bloom

Time for some autumn decorations.

I’ve been enjoying watching the seasons change during my morning run, and last week, I decided it was time to change the decorations at home. When I went to my local flower store to get some flowers in the autumn spirit, I discovered a little gem: Jatropha podagrica, the coral plant.

I was just fascinated by this plant. It’s a plant that grows into a bush or little tree, and somehow it produces flowers that look like a red coral.

I had a lot of fun painting this coral plant - take a close look, and you’ll see that the Jatropha has some company. Is it an underwater scene or are the fish floating in the air?

I am calling this painting “Fire bloom” because the red coral feels like it’s a blossoming of fire. I hope it will warm your home and warm your heart in the coming winter!
