A glass of summer

Sit down under the umbrella and have a sip.

“A glass of summer” is the first in a series of 10 paintings that I created for an exclusive collaboration with Fy. The theme of the series is contemporary minimalism.

It was my summer project, and what would say “summer” more than a cocktail by the pool? With a little umbrella in it, of course.

I imagined what my favourite cocktail would look like. A clear liquid, like water, because it’s strong liquor, and lots of flowers in it, of course.

I didn’t use any black paint to maintain the minimalistic spirit of the painting and to create the feeling of bright summer light, so a nice challenge for me was to still create enough contrast.

Sit down under the umbrella and have a sip!

PS: Some years ago, I painted A glass of autumn, so maybe winter is next?

Something a bit old, but the ideas are still new
