VIEW OF THE WORLD FROM STOCKHOLM

Visiting Stockholm: before and after. (After follows in a few weeks.)

I've been telling my hubby for years that we had to travel north -- because when you travel north, you find the meaning of life, right?

Finally, we're going to Scandinavia together, to Stockholm to be exact. In the past, I would always make a travel notebook for the places that I visit, but this time I wanted to do something different. I decided I would paint two paintings, one before we go, with the image of Stockholm as it is in my imagination now. And when we're back, I will make a second one, with Stockholm like I experience it. That should be interesting!

For the "before" image, I let myself be inspired by that very famous illustration, "View of the World from 9th Avenue" by Saul Steinberg.

So here's the Stockholm of my imagination, a pretty town next to Norway, Svalbard, Greenland and Canada, hahaha!

BEHIND THE SCENES...

THIS IS WHAT THIS PAINTING COULD LOOK LIKE ON YOUR WALL

Something a bit old, but the ideas are still new
