Leaving town, coming back
As you know if you've followed along on my Instagram, my husband and I will soon be returning to the Netherlands after two years in America. About a month after we get back, one of our dear friends, James, will move from the Netherlands to Italy.
To mark this moment of coming home and going away, I painted this view of the Eindhoven train station. Now you're maybe thinking that I painted this because a train station is about coming and going, but the reason is actually that this is the view from James's first apartment in Eindhoven, so I hope it will be a nice memory for him of his years there.
The Eindhoven train station was designed in the 1950s and looks a little bit like an FM radio from that time. For me, after two years away, going back to Eindhoven is a fresh opportunity to tune into life in the Netherlands. Things will be new and different, but also familiar. I can't wait to hear some new tunes!
