Autumn is the second spring
I'm so glad I found the second spring in Stockholm!
If you remember, I did a painting of Stockholm before our trip there, and I said I would do a second one after the trip. This is it!
What you see is the view from the living room of our B&B. I think we were pretty lucky to have such a great view - we got there just at the moment when the leaves had gone from green to a crazy mix of colours: purple, olive green, a reddish brown, yellow, orange. The old buildings complete the picture, it made me feel like a prince living in a castle.
I'm sorry to say though that we didn't spend that much time admiring the view. The living room was very stylishly Scandinavian, but it also unfortunately was rather uncomfortable. But in our four days in Stockholm, I always tried to get back to the house before it got dark, so that I could have a glass of wine and look out the window, even if it was only for a few minutes.
In a way, this view also sums up how I've experienced the Swedish approach to parks. I've seen this elsewhere in the city: a chaotic mix of plants that somehow ends up being beautiful. Hmmm, now that I think of that, maybe there will be another painting inspired by our Stockholm trip...
